Privacy Policy

Rationale ("we", "us") helps product teams capture and retrieve decision memory from sources you connect — such as Slack channels and meeting transcripts. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Account data. When you sign in, we receive your email address and basic profile information from your identity provider (Google or magic link).

Workspace content. Content you connect or upload — Slack messages from selected channels, pasted transcripts, and extracted decision records — is stored to power capture, review, and retrieval features.

Usage data. We collect standard product analytics (pages visited, feature usage, errors) to improve reliability and understand how teams use Rationale.

We use your data to:

• Authenticate you and operate your workspace
• Extract, structure, and surface decisions from connected sources
• Power search and Ask features with cited answers from your memory
• Maintain security, debug issues, and improve the product

We do not sell your workspace content or use it to train general-purpose models.

We share data only with subprocessors needed to run the service (hosting, database, authentication, email delivery, AI inference). These providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data. We may disclose information if required by law.

We retain workspace data while your account is active. You may disconnect sources, delete decisions, or request workspace deletion by contacting us. Backups may persist for a limited period after deletion.

We encrypt data in transit, restrict access to production systems, and follow least- privilege practices. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; report concerns to security@rationale.app.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data. Contact privacy@rationale.app to exercise these rights.
